Signal Brief Email Digest

The Signal Brief in Ranksy gives you a prioritized view of what matters across your app portfolio. The email digest brings that same brief to your inbox on a schedule you choose — so you get a daily or weekly summary without having to remember to open Ranksy.

Setting your cadence

  1. Go to Monitoring → Preferences.
  2. Scroll to the Email digest section under notification settings.
  3. Choose your cadence:
Option When you receive it
Daily Each morning (around 9 AM in your local time zone)
Weekly Monday mornings (around 9 AM in your local time zone)
Off No digest emails sent

The setting takes effect immediately. If you change from Off to Daily, you'll receive your first digest the following morning.

What the digest contains

The digest mirrors exactly what you'd see in the Signal Brief Today tab, formatted for email:

  • Attention Required signals listed first, with their titles and deep links back to Ranksy
  • On the Radar signals below
  • Quiet categories (e.g. "No ranking drops", "No new low reviews") confirming that Ranksy checked and found nothing

The digest sends even when there's nothing to report

✅ If all your signal categories are quiet, you'll still receive a digest email — an "all clear" message listing what was checked and confirming no action is needed. This matters because a missing email is indistinguishable from a skipped one; the all-clear email confirms the digest ran.

Prominence settings carry through

The email digest honours your Signal Prominence settings:

  • Promoted categories: their signals appear in Attention Required, even if they'd normally be On the Radar.
  • Muted categories: omitted from the email entirely (as they are from the on-screen brief).

Revenue and churn signals by email

⚠️ The Signal Brief email digest is the primary way to receive revenue and churn signals by email. Individual notification preferences (Settings → Notifications) cover reviews, rankings, and copycats — but revenue and churn events surface through the Signal Brief only, not as individual notifications.

If you want to be notified by email when a significant churn event occurs, enable the Revenue signal category (Default or Promote) and set your digest cadence to Daily.

Per-user setting

The digest cadence is saved per user. If multiple people on your team use Ranksy, each person sets their own cadence independently.

Unsubscribing

To stop receiving digest emails:

  1. Set your cadence to Off in Monitoring → Preferences, or
  2. Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any digest email.

FAQ

Q: I set Daily but didn't receive an email this morning. Why? A: Digests are sent once per day at 9 AM. If you changed the setting after 9 AM today, your first email will arrive the following morning.

Q: Can I choose what time the digest arrives? A: Not currently. Digests are sent at a fixed time (around 9 AM) in your own configured time zone.

Q: The digest shows signals I don't care about. How do I remove them? A: Mute the relevant category in Monitoring → Preferences. Muted categories are excluded from both the on-screen brief and the digest email.

Q: I want instant alerts for critical churn, not a daily digest. Is that possible? A: The Signal Brief digest is currently the only email delivery path for revenue and churn signals. Set it to Daily for the most timely alerts. Instant email notifications for churn are on the roadmap.
